There are many different types of fishing in Lanzarote, for novices and pros alike.
With our exceptional climate all year round the sea temperature rarely drops below 19ºC in winter and rises to 26ºC in summer. The ocean floor varies to depths of 3,500 meters which allows for deep sea fishing.
The waters around Lanzarote are home to a fine array of prized big fish. And as a result, game fishing is a very popular pastime.
Overseas anglers can encounter all sorts of exotic species such as sharks, tuna, marlin and wahoo.
The main big game fishing season runs from May through to November. Whilst bottom fishing for species such as bream is possible all year round.
There are numerous fishing excursions available. Most of which run out of either Puerto del Carmen old town harbour or the newer marina at Puerto Calero. Usually, collection from your accommodation and lunch is included in the price.
These excursions can either be booked direct – or via the reception area at your accommodation. Prices start from as little as €75.
Some operators even offer mini-fishing breaks – such as to the neighbouring island of Graciosa.
