The new golf course, Lanzarote Golf, (off the road from Puerto del Carmen to Tias) is very good and well worth playing, though nothing like as well established as the Costa Teguise course, which is also worth playing. Both were made more difficult, to anyone other than a straight hitter, by the expanses of volcanic waste. Playing from those was very difficult and also damaging to clubs, but neither Club exhibited any local rules which might have made play easier. In my opinion, both Clubs should provide dropping zones from which shots could be safely played, under penalty, as an alternative to playing from the waste areas….
